Business Case for the Recruitment of a Procurement Officer and/or Procurement Manager
Background
In October 2006, the National Audit Office reported on the need to improve procurement in further education colleges. NAO made eight key recommendations and clearly stated the procurement staffing and tasks that an efficient and effective college should be using. See Appendix 1. Our existing procurement system closely matches the “common approach to procurement” that the NAO report is critical of. Our existing staffing structure and lack of procurement skills prevents these recommendations being acted upon.
